Book a MIAM in London
Book Your MIAM Online or In Person in London
A MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) is your first meeting with an accredited family mediator. You normally need one before applying to the family court about children or finances in England and Wales, unless an exemption applies.
What Is a MIAM and Why Do You Need One?
Your MIAM is a private, confidential meeting between you and an accredited family mediator, without your ex-partner present. The mediator explains how mediation works, answers your questions and assesses whether it is suitable for your situation.
Courts now expect you to consider mediation before making an application about children or finances, and can take into account whether you tried. If mediation is not suitable, or the other person does not attend, your mediator can sign the court form you need.
You can attend your MIAM online from anywhere, or in person at our Waterloo, St Pancras or Sutton offices.
